Pre-Qualification
1. Why do I want the PMP certification?
While we are used to thinking of an ICAN for an accountant, companies today are doing the same for the project manager with a PMP certification. The PMP Certification is a way that many employers are setting a minimum entry standard for their project managers or technical leaders.
Project management in today's Nigeria, has grown simultaneously with entrepreneurship, and birth, growth and sustainability of organizations. It is fast becoming one of the most sought-after workplace skills by corporate bodies and new emerging entrepreneurs. . Businesses are becoming more project-focused and clamoring for discipline, standardization and effectiveness in the management of their projects.
If you are trying to compete for a job in project management, or a job utilizing project management skills you are competing against PMP's.
It has also been said that the technically disciplined project manager is the hardest skill set to find. If you are a great technical person, and can enhance your project management skill the project management way, you will definitely stand out over the competition, whether it's job security, promotion, or looking for a new job.
2. What are the benefits of attending this training?

3. Is a course needed to take the exam?
PMI has a requirement of a minimum of 35 contact hours of project management training to sit for the exam. As a PMI Education Provider our courses fit the criteria for the contact hours. The training also provides a proven roadmap to PMP Exam success that self study or study groups do not
4. I have years of experience as a project manager, why should I take a PM Course?
Experience doesn't equate to PMP or Exam success. Remember the PMP exam is geared for a person with at least 3 years experience of working on projects. PMI has a standard way of looking at things that not every company takes the time to implement. The PMBOK Guide is a rather thin in breaking down a lot of these areas. (Tony Johnson)
5. I don't have enough experience to write PMP exam; is there a way around it?
There’s a certification for those new to project management; it’s the CAPM(Certified Associate in Project Management) This is an entry level into the project management field.
6. How hard is the exam?
It's not an easy exam. 200 and 150 questions, 4 and 3 hours for the PMP and CAPM respectively , 9 knowledge areas, 5 process areas, framework, professional and social responsibility, calculations, situational questions, who fixes what, etc .We teach you to break down the question formats, learn to apply the formulas, and attack the exam, instead of it attacking you. This is not an easy exam, but just like training is required for the Tour De France, we can prepare you for PMP exam success. (Tony Johnson)
7. When and where can I take the PMP Exam?
Locations can be seen at http://www.prometric.com/. We recommend a smaller test center (If you have an option) as they are a bit quieter and have less people coming and going from the room you are testing in. Unlike some exams that have fixed dates, the PMP exam is offered whenever you can schedule it. You will receive an approval letter from PMI to take the exam. It will have your authorization number on it, and you will need this to schedule the test. You will have one year from the date on the letter to take the exam. (Tony Johnson)
8. How soon will I know if I passed the exam?
You will know if you have passed the exam before you leave the workstation at the test center where you are taking the test. You will be given a report with your score on the exam before you leave the test center. Within one month you should receive the supporting documents from PMI in the mail.
9. Does your methodology include Prince2?
The methodology we teach is based on the PMBOK(Project management Body Of Knowledge) by PMI. The PMP/CAPM certifications are exclusive to PMI only.
10. Do I have to attend a special CAPM class if am preparing for CAPM?
The classes we hold are for both PMP and CAPM. You don’t need a seperate CAPM class to prepare you for CAPM exam.
11. I don’t have a degree in a project management related field; can I still write the PMP?
The PMP certification is not limited to a particular field. You can get certified irrespective of the degree you hold.
12. Must I be a member of PMI to write the exam?
No. You don’t have to be a member to write the exam. PMI membership is optional.
13. What is the total duration of the course?
The course duration is 35 hours which is broken down in 4 days.
Payment Options
1. What’s the cost for registering for PMI membership?
Membership registration is $129 for individuals and $75 for students.
2. What’s the cost of the CAPM EXAM?
The CAPM exam is $300 for non PMI members and $225 for PMI members.
3. What’s the cost of the PMP exam?
The PMP exam is $555 for non PMI members and $405 for PMI members.
4. How and where do I make payments for these exams?
Payment for membership and exam registrations are made on the PMI website with your credit card.
5. Do I have to complete payment for exam before attending the training?
No. You start the application process after the training.
6. What if I do not have a credit card are there other options?
If you do not have a credit card, abr will charge you $20 to register for you.
7. What type of payment plans and options are available?
If you are a corporate organization, we could work with your account department to create an invoice.
If you are an individual we accept cheque in advance. We also accept installment. Please note that the first installment is not less than 60% of the training fee.
8. What does the training cost cover?
The amount covers training materials, lunch break and light refreshment.
9. Do I need to come to the class with my deposit slip if I pay into your account?
No. All you need to do is inform us and we’ll confirm your payment via email.
Our discount terms for full payment concluded before the training is stated below;
Full payment concluded four weeks ahead of training attracts ten- percent discount.
Full payment concluded three weeks ahead of training attracts eight percent discount.
Full payment concluded two weeks ahead of training attracts seven percent discount.
Full payment concluded a week ahead of training attracts five percent discount.

Prerequisites
1. What qualifications do I need to take the PMP Exam?
If you have a bachelor degree you will need 4500 hours of experience in project management related activities over 36 months of the last 60 months you are reporting for.
If you do not have a bachelor degree you will need 7500 hours of experience in project management related activities over 60 months of the last 96 months you are reporting.
Remember, this is project management related areas, not necessarily as a project manager. Were you involved in providing estimates? Determining what work was involved in a project? Providing status on items on the project? Tracking costs? These are items that count toward the experience. (Tony Johnson)
2. How are the hours and months of experience determined?
If you worked in any of the 44 process areas such as providing estimates, status, task lists, or tracked time and cost, these types of activities will count toward the experience. You do not need the title of project manager to have the experience count, but instead worked in the project management processes.
3. Do I need to be a PMI Member to take the exam?
You do not need to be a PMI member to take the exam. If you are, or choose to be you can save money on the exam cost. The exam for non-members is $555 and for members is $405. To be a PMI member and get the benefits of it is around $120 a year depending upon if you choose to join a local chapter or special interest group.
4. When do I need to register for the exam?
You can register for the PMP exam as early as you want, as long as you are prepared to take the exam within a year of applying. You will usually receive the approval letter within a couple of weeks after applying.

Post-Certification
What is needed to maintain the PMP certification?
After you attain your PMP certification you will need to maintain 60 PDU's (Professional Development Units) over the next 3 years. This includes training; attending PMI chapter meetings and other items that PMI has defined as acceptable for PDU qualification. One PDU is equal to one hour of training. As you acquire the PDU's you can submit forms with the information about the PDUs to PMI or you can wait until the end of the reporting period.
